Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday met with the head of US Central Command, General Lloyd James Austin.

The meeting, held in Cairo, to discuss counter-terrorism efforts, Egypt's presidency has announced.

Sisi and Austin also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, as well as Egyptian-American military cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Egypt's Defence Minister Sedky Sobhi.
