President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Wednesday Chadian Foreign Minister Moussa Mahamat in the presence of Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and the Chadian ambassador here.
The Chadian minister handed over two messages from Chad's President Idriss Deby to President Sisi, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssf said.
The first message included condolences of the Chadian government and people over the martyrs of the terrorist attack that targeted El Boutrosiya Coptic Orthodox Church in Abbasiya district. It also affirms Chad's full solidarity with Egypt in combating terrorism and extremism.
Meanwhile, the second message asserts Chad's keenness on promoting ties between Cairo and N'Djamena in several fields.
Chad's top diplomat, for his part, voiced appreciation for Al Azhar and the key role it is playing to convey the true teachings of Islam, said the spokesman.
President Sisi, Youssef added, asked Mahamat to convey his greetings to President Idriss Deby and emphasized that Egypt and Chad have strong relations.
Sisi also noted that Egypt is willing to boost regional cooperation with the aim of overcoming challenges that face Africa.
The meeting, Youssef noted, also addressed some African issues of mutual concern, including the latest developments in Libya and efforts to restore stability in the conflict-torn country.
