Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, now visiting here, received on Tuesday Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nuhayyan, who is also visiting here to attend the inauguration of MAKS international aviation exhibition.
The meeting took up means of promoting joint cooperation at the political, economic and development levels, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef.
The two sides asserted that joint cooperation is now invested with special importance given the current state of affairs in the region, said the spokesman. They held that the regional situation requires pooling all efforts together and building a unified Arab strategy to fight extremism and terrorism let alone other challenges, added the spokesman.
Sheikh Mohamed, said the spokesman, renewed his country's supportive stance for Egypt at the political and economic levels.
Sheikh Mohamed also voiced support for the Egyptian people's right to stability and development, added the spokesman.
The meeting took up also the recent developments in the region where the viewpoints of the two sides regarding regional and international issues were identical, added the spokesman.
President Sisi arrived here earlier in the day on a three-day official visit during which he will have talks with President Vladimir Putin and other senior Russian officials on issues of common concern including means of promoting bilateral relations.
