UAE Ambassador meets Indian Civil Aviation Minister

Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, has met with Shri Jayant Sinha, Indian Minister for Civil Aviation, in the capital, New Delhi.

During the meeting, the parties discussed various issues related to civil aviation and air routes between the UAE and India, which are governed by the Air Services Agreement between the two countries, which will allow for greater flexibility and ease operations for UAE and Indian carriers. India has previously signed 4 separate Memoranda of Understanding with the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai and Ras al-Khaimah.

Dr. Al-Banna proposed a meeting between the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority of India as soon as possible to review the agreement.

He said that air routes between the two countries are among the most profitable in the world due to the large number of commercial activities between them.

Ambassador Al-Banna said that the UAE firmly believes that it is the government's responsibility to ensure that the agreement provides equal opportunities and mutual benefit to both parties. The UAE government is making efforts to resume negotiations for bilateral talks under the Air Service Agreement.
