UAE Ambassador to Poland, Dr. Youssef Issa Hassan Al Sabri, met with Pawel Skutecki, President of the Polish Parliamentary Group for Matters of Cultural and Religious Dialogue and Member of the Polish House of Representatives, at the UAE Embassy in Warsaw.
The meeting was attended by Przemyslaw Skrzypek, member of the Polish Parliamentary Group for Matters of Cultural and Religious Dialogue, mufti Tomasz Miskiewicz, Cultural and Religious Mufti of ICAR, and Jaromir Latuszynski, President of the Polish Institute for Muslim Cultural and Religious Dialogue and President of the Supreme Council for the Polish Islamic Religious Union.
Bilateral ties between the UAE and Poland were discussed during the meeting, as well as developing co-operation between the two countries in all areas, especially in cultural and religious dialogue and tolerance between different religions and cultures, notably Islam. Exchanges of expertise in this area was also discussed, and potential benefits from the UAE’s expertise with the existence of a Ministry for Tolerance that oversees religious and cultural tolerance in the UAE.
The Polish side confirmed their efforts to spread the correct interpretation of Islam in Poland, while they highlighted the goals of the Polish Parliamentary Group for Matters of Cultural and Religious Dialogue that represent 3 main areas: the strengthening of cultural dialogue, especially with the Middle East, opening dialogue between different religions, notably Islam, and supporting all economic activities that benefit cultural and religious dialogue.
Welcoming the idea, Dr. Al Sabri highlighted that the UAE has called for peace, and is a symbol of tolerance and harmony, pointing out that tolerance in the UAE comes from the tolerance and moderation of Islam.
The ambassador highlighted the leading role of the Ministry of Tolerance in guaranteeing the continuing establishment of the values of tolerance, co-existence, dialogue and respect for cultural diversity, the acceptance of others while rejecting all forms of extremism.
