Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received on Monday at Jumeirah Al Naseem Hotel, Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of Tesla Motors, an American company that specialises in the design and manufacture of electric cars and their power train components.

Sheikh Mohammed and Musk discussed the company’s global activities and its role to maintain a clean environment through the manufacturing and selling of electric public transportation systems and self-driving electric vehicles as well as its role in encouraging the use of clean energy being the parent company of SolarCity Corporation company that specialises in solar energy services.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the launch and establishment of the company’s regional office in Dubai and directed the concerned authorities in Dubai to facilitate the company’s work and furnish them with the services and logistic support required.

Musk praised the achievements of Dubai, describing it as the city of opportunities. He also expressed the employees’ delight at having the opportunity to be in the UAE and work at the new office which is officially launching today.
