Cairo - Arab Today
Al Azhar Grand Imam Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb will open on Wednesday the second annual conference for the Sheikh Zayed Center for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
The two-day conference, organized by World Association for Al Azhar Graduates, reflects the keenness on linguists on preparing language tests in Arabic to non-native speakers, said head of the conference and vice chairman of the association Mohamed Abdel Fadil.
Several Muslims in a number of world countries seek to learn the Arabic language in order to join Al Azhar for studying, he added.
There is a urgent need for preparing such tests, a matter which requires rallying efforts in this respect, he said.
