A fire that erupted in old railway sleepers in Sohag has been extinguished.
Sohag security chief Ahmed Aboul Fotouh received a report that a fire broke out in stored railway sleepers between Bardees and Balyana railway stations.
Civil protection forces rushed to the scene and controlled the fire.
No casualties were reported as the damage was limited to the combustion of 200 railway sleepers.
Only one train has fallen behind schedule for 35 minutes.
Prosecution was notified to launch an investigation.
