Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni will arrive in Moscow on Friday, a spokesperson for the Italian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik.
Gentiloni is set to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavorv to discuss the situation in Syria and Libya, as well as cooperation issues, the spokesperson said.
The Italian Foreign Minister will head back to Italy on Friday.
In January, Gentiloni met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich in Italy to discuss economic relations between the two countries.
Italy’s foreign minister has repeatedly called attention to the negative economic impact of sanctions imposed against Russia by the West over Moscow’s alleged involvement in Ukraine’s internal conflict.
