New Cuban Ambassador here Laureano Rodriguez Castro met with members of the political bureau of the Egyptian Communist Party on Thursday.

The meeting took place at the party's HQ in Cairo.

The Cuban envoy addressed the economic and political situation in his country and Cuba's relationship with the US and Latin American countries, the party said in a statement.

The party members also expounded on political and economic conditions in Egypt to the ambassador, the statement added.
