Manama - Arab Today
A Bahraini economic delegation will visit Egypt in May to discuss ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the agricultural field, Egyptian Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed said on Thursday.
Speaking at the end of the 40th Bahrain-held meeting of the shareholders council of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), Fayed said the Bahraini delegation will comprise a huge number of agricultural investors.
The delegation members will discuss with Egyptian officials the possibility of increasing agricultural projects between the two countries and completing the 1.5 million feddan reclamation project in Egypt, he said.
The Arab region is a promising area for investment as it can secure foodstuffs for the whole Arab countries, he said.
Fayed stressed the importance of achieving economic, investment, commercial and agricultural integration among the Arab countries.
He noted that he conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Bahrain's Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa during his participation in the AAAID meetings.
