Following directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has finalised the executive procedures related to the Busaiteen Coast Revamp Project, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant government authorities, and will put the project out to tender next week.
In a statement, Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf said that based on HRH Premier’s directives, the ministry has coordinated with the Muharraq Municipal Council to revamp a number of coasts and sea fronts, including the Busaiteen Coast and Halat Bu Maher Revamp projects, within the sea fronts development projects in the Muharraq Governorate.
The minister asserted that all designs and administrative procedures have been completed, and the Busaiteen Revamp Project will be put out to tender next week, noting that that the two-kilometre coast, covering more than 45,000 sqaure metres, will be among the most important sea fronts in the governorate.
Regarding the Halat Bu Maher Corniche Revamp Project, the minister said that the Ministry will present the local Municipal Council with the designs of the project in order to express their visions on it before carrying on the necessary procedures, adding that the Works Ministry has coordinated with all the competent authorities to prepare the project site ahead of its revamp.
Khalaf asserted that the Capital Trustees’ Board and municipal councils are partners to the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry in the decision-making process, adding that ministry will implement a number of development projects, including sea fronts, in the coming period, to meet the needs of the citizens and residents.
