Visiting Trade Minister of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich said on Tuesday that the Eurasian Economic Community will convene in mid 2016 to discuss ways of boosting trade cooperation with Egypt.
Speaking at a press conference in Cairo in the presence of Egypt's Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil following a three-day meeting of the joint trade committee, Koltovich said his country is keen on increasing the tourist flow to Egypt in the coming period.
Koltovich said the meeting came up with fruitful results, noting that Belarus is ready to go into partnerships with the Egyptian side to increase investments on the Egyptian market.
Qabil said the free trade agreement between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Community, still under discussion, will contribute to boosting cooperation between the two sides and pumping more investments into the Egyptian market.
Only 24 Belarusian companies are operating in Egypt now with total investments of 1.4 million dollars, he noted.
Qabil stressed the importance of increasing Belarusian investments in Egypt in the coming period.
