Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Ruler of Sharjah Dr Sultan bin Mohammed al Qasimi will inaugurate the new building of the national archives in Cairo's Fustat city on Sunday.
They will be accompanied by Culture Minister Abdel Wahed el Nabawi.
Nabawi, in statements Saturday, said that digital management systems have been installed in the new building, pointing out that the documents will be totally secured against fire and theft.
The building includes a documents museum grouping the most important documents in the history of Egypt, as well as the whole region, since the Fatimid era until the present time, the minister added.
