New York - MENA
A UN conference to relaunch peace talks in Yemen will open in Geneva on May 28, a UN spokesman said on Wednesday.
The meeting is to “restore momentum towards a Yemeni-led political transition process,” according to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Russia Today reported.
The conference was due to be announced last week, but the UN demanded that there be a halt in fighting.
Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen intensified after a five-day humanitarian truce expired at the weekend.
