Marisa Tomei stars as a non-traditional student and Hugh Grant is a disgruntled screenwriter-turned-college-professor in the newly released trailer for their film The Rewrite.
The trailer, released Friday, features the two actors returning to their romantic-comedy roots, with Grant channeling the washed-up entertainer he played so well in About a Boy, and Music and Lyrics.
Grant's character, Keith Michaels, formerly a Golden Globe-winner, hasn't had a hit movie in 15 years and now is desperate for a job. His agent lines him up with a teaching job at a local college, where he meets Tomei's character, Holly Carpenter, a single mom working two jobs and trying to earn a degree.
"The pair find themselves connected by their mutual need for a second chance," the official synopsis of the film says. The film also stars Allison Janney and is directed by Marc Lawrence, who has directed a couple other Grant rom-coms, including Two Weeks Notice, and Music and Lyrics.
The Rewrite doesn't have a U.S. release date yet, but is expected to hit theaters before the end of 2014.
