Using forensic evidence, police procedurals, intuition and the instinct for survival, Vicki Walker and Tom Barton search for clues and connections, and as they gather evidence and relentlessly pursue the killer or killers, they gain mutual respect, and develop a grudging admiration for each other in the new partnership forged in the violence of crime and the mean streets.
