The Transport Ministry is working on a number of bridges on the Nile River worth 3.412 billion pounds. 

Two of the bridges will be built in the Delta region and three in Upper Egypt, said Transport Minister Hisham Arafat Wednesday. 

A new road network has been established in Upper Egypt to connect new industrial and urban compounds, as well as the east and west banks of the Nile, Arafat added.
