EgyptAir successfully passed a test by the US-based Transportation Security Administration (TSA) without any remarks by the inspection team to add to the honorable record of the Egyptian national air carrier, said EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Safwat Musallam.
In a statement released on Sunday, EgyptAir said said TSA delegation led by Robert Ukanson made a three-day inspection of EgyptAir flights on the Cairo-New York route including the security programs, measures taken to secure the luggage and planes starting from the check-in of passengers at the airport till their boarding of the plane.
The test included inspections of security in departure halls, luggage control, as well as security procedures put in place at arrival halls.
The passing of the test contributes to alleviating some of the negative consequences on Egypt’s economy and tourism industry caused by the downing of a Russian airliner in Egypt’s Sinai province last year.
TSA inspetion of Cairo-New York flights is the 26th of its kind as this regular test is being carried out twice a year to check on safety measures of the Egyptian airliner.
