The Tourism Committee of Qatar Chamber has prepared a comprehensive study including its vision for the development of the tourism sector and its role in Qatar's economic development.
HE Sheikh Hamad bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Thani BOD member of Qatar Chamber and Chairman of the Tourism Committee on Saturday confirmed that the Committee has conducted a comprehensive study on the reality of Qatar's tourism sector, which has an important impact on economic development in terms of providing foreign exchange and developing of a number of sectors that supply goods and services for the sector.
He stressed that Qatar has a great potential to develop the tourism sector as a tributary factor of the national income and a plays major role in providing employment.
In this context, he highlighted the unique and distinctive tourism identity of Qatar, which according to him relies on a number of elements, placing it as a unique tourist destination. He referred in this regard to the traditional markets, museums, sand dunes overlooking the beaches, world-class sports facilities along with luxury malls, sophisticated conference centers and exhibitions.
The advancement of the tourism sector would enhance the national economy and support the country's plans to diversify sources of income, he went on saying.
HE Sheikh Hamad bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Thani called on all stakeholders in order to promote the tourism sector and stimulate the private sector to invest in it, pointing out that the partnership between the public and private sectors would pave the way towards its promotion.
