Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with Emirates Auction, will hold a public auction on Saturday for 60 new distinguished vehicle number plates (Category 1), on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of its establishment, at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Organized by Emirates Auction, the auction listed the numbers on the company’s website, including five double-digit plates, 15 three-digit plates, 19 four-digit and 17 five-digit plates.
The number (2) is among the most distinguished numbers in this auction as the only one-digit license plate in the auction alongside being the first-ever one-digit Category 1 number plate sold in a public auction.
The most prominent numbers in the auction are 10, 60, 333, 600, 999, 1000, 1111, 5050, 6000, 6060, 6666, 9090, 9999, 10000, 55555, 60000, 66666 among other distinctive numbers that attract collectors of unique number plates.
The auction is organized on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Abu Dhabi Police, in order to celebrate its journey of developmental achievements and its excellence in security performance and police work in accordance with the highest modern standards, which reflects the vision of the wise leadership and demonstrates the diligence of Abu Dhabi Police in ensuring the satisfaction for enthusiasts of distinctive number plates. The auction is expected to witness a high turnout as it is the first time that vehicle number plates of category 1 are made available for to bid on. Category 1 number plates are considered the most distinguished in the UAE and thus are highly valuable for enthusiasts and collectors of special number plates.

Those wishing to participate in the auction should be present well in advance before the bidding opens at 4 pm at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Bidders are entitled to an unlimited number of plates and the auction prices start at the specified nominal value.
