The head of the investigation office in the Libyan Attorney General's Office in Tripoli, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, announced the start of an investigation with ISIS elements, who were arrested by the special forces following the end of operations in Sirte.
Al-Sour said that the investigations revealed involvement of these elements in cases registered against unknown in the cities of Derna and Benghazi, most notably the case of the assassination of former Attorney General Abdulaziz al-Hasadi and member of the conference Frayha Barkawi and a number of advisers.
He announced the determination of the Attorney General's Office to hold a press conference to review the results reached to reassure the local and international public opinion.
On the other hand, the director of the general department of coast security in the ministry of the interior, Colonel Tariq Shanbun, stressed that "Al Nawasy battalion" stormed the headquarters of the administration in the capital.
He called, in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, on Interior Minister Aref al-Khawaja to resign, pointing out that the latter denied issuing official written or verbal instructions regarding the evacuation of the headquarters of the Department of Coast Security, accusing "Al Nawasy battalion" of working outside the law.
The media reported on Friday that "Al Nawasy battalion" stormed the headquarters of the coast guard at the municipal resort in Tripoli and took control of the place.
Five members of the Libyan National Army, led by Marshal Khalifa Hafter, were killed on Friday as armed forces combed the positions of extremist groups in the central region of Sidi Benghazi.
