The Kremlin announced that leaders of the three guarantor states of Astana process on Syria will pay a special attention to the situation in Idleb and the new US provocations there during their upcoming summit.
Russian President’s Assistant for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov was quoted by Russia Today website as saying that “The agenda of the summit includes discussing the latest developments of the situation in Syria and the procedures of the long-term settlements, in addition to the taken steps for combating terrorism and issues related to bringing life back to its normal track.”
Ushakov added that Idleb has recently witnessed an intensification of terrorists’ activities such as launching drones towards Hmeimim Base in Lattakia countryside.
He indicated that the summit will discuss the issue of preparing several plays to accuse Damascus of using chemical weapons.
The exerted efforts which aim at implementing the decisions of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress which was held last January in Sochi city and launching the work of the constitutional committee in Geneva will be also on the table.
Earlier on Friday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that preparations are underway for holding a tripartite summit embracing guarantor states of Astana process .
