Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya has called for restoring Palestinian unity and adopting a resistance policy against Israel. He said that Israeli predominant settlements can only be faced by an Arab-backed, integrated Palestinian strategy or else occupation will continue its violations.
In statements, on the sidelines of a conference on the "Excellence in Palestinian Education" held in Gaza, Haniya  called for re-building its organisation to serve as a comprehensive reference for the all Palestinian people.
He considered the Israeli intensive settlement activities in the West an attempt to escape the victory of the resistance in Gaza, during the last war and the Palestinian political achievement at the United Nations - stressing the illegality of the occupation on Palestinian land.
"Israel is a cancerous gland that must be blocked and eradicated. Palestinian resistance have began to cut this gland's artery" Haniyeh said.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Abu-Halabiyeh, head of Al-Quds committee at the Palestinian parliament, said that Israel was spreading  "the cancer of settlements" to all parts of Jerusalem", urging Palestinians to "ignite a third intifada to save Al-Aqsa mosque and Jerusalem.
He told reporters in Gaza City that the "enemy was waging a fierce onslaught on Jerusalem and accelerating plans to "Judaise" the city geographically and demographically."
The Hamas official also accused Israel of working to undermine the foundations of Al-Aqsa mosque to bring about its collapse so that it could be replaced with the Third Temple.
He urged Arabs and Muslims to declare a state of full mobilisation to "liberate Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa mosque and Palestine."
