French handball team celebrates victory in 2011 Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Handball World Championship, "Doha 2015" has said that Doha is ready to host the best championship in the competition's history .Speaking to reporters, al-Thani also thanked other members of the organising committee for their "wise leadership."
During a meeting with the President of the International Handball Federation (IHF), Dr Hassan Moustafa, al-Thani pointed out that the Doha 2015 championship will be a qualitative leap in the history of the world championship on the organisational level, stressing the ability of the organising committee to complete all the stadiums and matters related to the championship ahead of schedule.
The meeting, held at the IHF headquarters in Basel was attended by Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, President of Qatar Handball Federation (QHF) and the Championship Executive Director Ahmed Mohammed al-Shaabi, QHF Secretary-General Mohammad Jaber and several officials at the International Handball Federation.    
Sheikh Joaan said that the organising committee's vision, which was presented to the IHF President and members of the Executive Office, includes the action plan and the recent preparations made by the committee on the ground concerning the sports facilities that will host the event.
He added that Doha's readiness to host the Handball World Championship reflects Qatar's interest in organising an outstanding and unprecedented event on the Qatari soil.    He revealed that the organising committee is looking to exploit the upcoming championship in Spain in every possible way to promote the Doha 2015 Championship through a promotional programme on the sidelines of games, in addition to a world press conference during which the slogan of the championship will be revealed along with other matters relating to the organisation.
The conference will also witness the signing of the hosting contract and the launch of the tournament tickets.
Qatar was awarded the rights of hosting the 2015 World Handball Championship following stiff competition with three European nations, namely France, Norway and Poland, at a vote that took place during the last World Handball Championship in Sweden in 2011.
