Clashes erupted after the match between Libya and Algeria Algiers – Hocine Bousaleh Clashes erupted after the match between Libya and Algeria which ended with only one goal for the Libyan team. Immediately after the clashes, the Libyan Minister of Youth and Sport, Fathi Terbil, said in a statement that: “The Libyan Football Federation will not ignore the acts of some Libyan players who will probably be punished.”
In regards to the ending of the game, the Minister added: “It’s a pity that a football game between two sister countries ended with such events; we shouldn’t have reached this limit because it has nothing to do with our culture.”
Being responsible for Libyan sports, the Minister apologised to all Algerian people and congratulated them for their win yesterday saying: “The events that happened through the game should not distract us from warmly congratulating the Algerian team and wish them more success in the future.”
Terbil said that he will personally do his best to remove the current tension and to get the situation back to normality, which is what things should be like in these games between brothers.
