Egypt's Antiquities Minister Khaled El-Enany received Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan and president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud at Luxor Temple on Thursday.
Wang expressed his admiration of the Pharaonic monuments and noted that his visit coincided with the initiation of work by the first Chinese archaeologists’ delegation in Egypt.
A memorandum of understanding between Egypt and China on boosting cooperation in archaeology and antiquities and preserving and protecting national heritage is expected to be signed on Saturday.
El-Enany also received Prince Sultan and accompanied him on a tour of the temple.
Wang and Sultan also met with Egyptologist Zahi Hawass during their visit.
