The supreme culinary talents of Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) chefs have been recognised with a plethora of awards at the 5thEast Coast Culinary Competition, which took place at Miramar, Al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah, recently. A total of eight SLC chefs were honoured at the gourmet-themed event, which wasendorsed by World Association of Chef Societies and saw the participation of 400 chefs from hotels across the UAE.

Included in the tally of awards for the SLC chefs were two top titles; ‘Best in Arabic Cuisine’ and ‘Best in Arabic Pastry,’with the haul also seeing two Golds, six Silvers and a Bronzes. Two SLC entrants, Tessie Dalangin Cano and ColabageSamitha Fernando, excelled by winning in more than one category, having impressed the judges with their culinary prowess with Arabic dishes. 

“The high standard of its offerings have been proven with the top awards given to these eight chefs from SLC at the 5thEast Coast Culinary Competition, all of whom have participated in SLC’s various cookery programmes.
