HE Abdullah Sultan Al-Owais, Chairman of SCCI

Under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Exports Development Center (SEDC), part ofSharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI),is set to host the activities of the “Industrial Cooperation and Supply Chain Conference” on 22nd November.
The conference, hosted by the Sharjah Chamber, will bring together representatives of many local and global industrial companies and officials operating within the fields of aviation, space and defense. It will discuss the most prominent current global trends and the future of the industrial sector, as well as review the challenges and obstacles facing manufacturing investment, business-related industries, and the supply chain sector.
HE Abdullah Sultan Al-Owais, Chairman of SCCI reiterated the Chamber’s keenness,under the generous guidance of Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, as well as the dynamic follow upof His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, to develop the industrial sector in the emirate under the framework of an  economic diversification policy, the creation of all appropriate means to enhance the export sector, in order to expand the economic situation of the emirate at a regional and global level.
Al Owaisalso pointed out that organizing the conference of Industrial Cooperation and Supply Chain, initiated by the Sharjah Center for Export Development, established in 2015, is a positive step for the center on the road to support the business community in promoting investments, most notably in the manufacturing and export field, and thus the development and doubling Sharjah exports and increase its share in foreign markets. Therebythis will contributein strengthening the foundations of a sustainable economy in the emirate.

Al Owaisalso expressed his hope that the conference will contribute in providingadditional value to the business community in Sharjah and the UAE;calling on investors and entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity presented by the conference, to understand the reality of the sector and its developments at a global level. He also called on those to take advantage of the platform provided by the event, in order to build cooperative relationships and working partnerships, that will promote and market high-quality national production, as well as raising the export rates of UAE products to regional and global markets.
For his part, Abdel Aziz Mohammed Shattaf, Director of SharjahExports Development Center, said that organizing such a conference, comes within the framework of the center and with the support of SCCI, in order to enhance the contribution of the industrial sector and develop its role in sustainable economic growth in Sharjah, adding that through exploring investment opportunities and industrial cooperation and strategies of attracting global production industries for Sharjah, so it can become a regional hub in the manufacturing and export fields.

Shattafadded that one of the center’s initiatives at the conferenceis toassist the industrial establishments in all sectors in the emirate in developinga competitive edge, as well to promote manufacturing through creatinginternationalpartners that will have a positive impact on the emirate’s economy in general. Moreover, Shattaf also said that the conference will see the participation of a number of government officials, and the executives of anumber of companies, as well as local and international companies specialized in different areas in the industrial sector.
Furthermore, Shattaf said that the center launched a website, specifically set up to promote the conference. The website features comprehensive data and information that interested participants attending the conference can use and take advantage of. 
He also explained that the center will continue with its preparations for the completion of the conference, organizing arrangements in collaboration with the SCCI, as well as in coordination with a number of experienced partners and members. Shattaf noted that the center is set to announce the names of the speakers, as well as topics that will be discussed during the conference. 
It is noteworthy that the Sharjah Exports Development Centeris one the initiatives led by SCCI which provides support and an ideal environment for local exports to take place through the center. It also offers a variety of services to encourage industrial enterprises and exporters to raise competitiveness in foreign markets. The center operates in collaboration with its members and partners, to diversify and expand its geographic presencein order to expand exports of Sharjah, as well as raise efficiency and develop its presence effectively in global markets.
The center also aims to improve and develop exportable products, as well as to create a modern and sophisticated database to continue to provide services to exporters and those interested in exporting. It also intends to create a geographical export map of potential markets, as well as contributing in unifying the efforts to facilitate export procedures with the relevant authorities. It also wants to produce and promotefurther opportunities in marketing products in foreign markets, as well as finding solutions for financing and ensuring safe exporting procedures, and assisting in supporting technology and innovation in developing exports.
