20th Century Fox has released the first poster of Palestinian Oscar-nominated director Hani Abu Assad’s “The Mountain Between Us.”
Starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, the survival drama is an adaptation of Charles Martin’s 2010 novel.
Stranded after a tragic plane crash, two strangers must forge a connection to survive the extreme elements of a remote snow covered mountain. When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing one another to endure and discovering strength they never knew possible.
“The Mountain Between Us” is set for release on Oct. 20.
Directed by Abu-Assad, of “Paradise Now” and “Omar” fame, from an adapted screenplay by J. Mills Goodloe and Chris Weitz, the film co-stars Dermot Mulroney and Beau Bridge.
This film has been in development for a few years now, with Michael Fassbender at one point attached to star, followed by the pairing of Rosamund Pike and Charlie Hunnam.
