Alice has created intricate, linear patterns which are the focus for this season’s collection Alice Palmer is a phenomenal knitwear designer who pushes the boundaries with design and production. The label has a strong, unique aesthetic, coupled with sustainable production methods that are friendly to the environment, requiring no fabric waste. Alice is renowned for her use of unconventional knitting techniques combined with traditional methods to create garments with a bold and modern look.  Always passionate about pattern, from and shape and with a continued fascination for science and technology, Alice found inspiration for the Cirrus collection in rendered design, gravitational diagrams of Einstein’s theory of relativity and by Zaha Hadid’s sculpture of the same name.
Taking these concepts Alice has created intricate and delicate, knitted linear patterns which are the focus for this season’s collection. These striated designs are produced by the changing threads, with a colour palette of silver, black, ecru, nude, fawn and metallic blue in luxurious silk, viscose and lurex yarns.
Developing and advancing her designs and techniques each season, Alice Palmer has refined the silhouettes for SS13 to offer a collection of softly structured, wearable garments that drape and compliment the body. The visionary and conceptual designs are this season focussed on pattern rather than structure, with the Alice Palmer signature strongly identifiable throughout the collection. The covetable collection of dresses and separates includes cocktail dresses, a showpiece gown and a statement, long jumpsuit; new for SS13 is a stunning range of accessory/jewellery pieces which offer an access point into the collection.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art with a Masters Degree, Alice Palmer has held fashion shows in London, Tokyo and New York. In September 2008, while showing her spring/summer 2009 collection in New York with NY Profile, Palmer was presented with the Best Womenswear Designer award by sponsors ASOS.com. This led to a diffusion collection for the site that was launched in March 2009. Alice Palmer has been nominated for Fashion Designer of the Year at the Scottish Style Awards and in 2010 was selected by John Galliano as one of the three finalists for Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden.
Alice Palmer presented her SS13 collection in a catwalk show in Cologne on September 6 and with Eastern Block at Paris Fashion Week.
