Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week Nicolas Ghesquière presented Balenciaga\'s collection for Autumn/Winter 2012 during Paris Fashion week. \"We imagined this Balenciaga Inc. company [in the \'80s] and then we started to identify the functions the staff have and the clothes they would wear, the space-age sweatshirt girls were the spies infiltrating the company,\" said Ghesquière. While some of \'80s nuances were present, like the boxy jackets and printed sweatshirts, Ghesquière\'s expertise in tight tailoring took the collection to the future. Coats with puffed-up shoulders opened the show, featuring bright dresses in electric blue and scarlet layered underneath. Models strutted down the runway in an array of baggy metallic colorblock pants. There was also cute transfer jumpers teamed with billowing pants as well as futuristic leather jackets with space age materials in sheer and metallic colourings.
Ghesquière’s palette also consisted of metallic materials, with animal prints, neon colours and models who walked adopted cropped hair with a slight blow dry effect.
The footwear was a mix of sharp cap-toe ankle boots and white strappy sandals, while bags showed boxy leather satchel bags with wide straps.
