Balmain Extatic eau de parfum
Balmain has a new fragrance set to hit stores in the new year. "Extatic is the perfect reflection of Balmain fashion: sexy, glamorous, daring... It's like one of our gowns: able to reveal the sensuality of the woman who wears it," says
Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing.
The new Balmain women's scent was created by perfumer Emilie Coppermann (the nose behind the Givenchy Play fragrances, as well as scents for Burberry and Paco Rabanne).
"Extatic is the olfactory metaphor of the Balmain woman, who captivates through a certain lightness combined with an assertive character," she explains. "Not to mention an ‘aristo-rock' offhandedness which makes her the irresistible center of attraction for all eyes..."
The scent opens with rose, nashi pear and osmanthus, with a heart composed of chocolate, orchid, iris and jasmine. Leather, amyris and cashmere wood finish off the fragrance.
There will be an exclusive launch at Harrods in London on January 20 before the perfume rolls out into a wider selection of exclusive department stores in February 2014. You'll be able to pick up the eau de parfum Natural Spray in three sizes: 90ml (€90.00), 60ml (€60.00), and 40ml (€42.00).
Russian model Anna Selezneva will be the face of the fragrance in the upcoming campaign, which was shot by Karim Sadli. "It's not only Anna's beauty which makes her the ideal Extatic muse," added Rousteing, "it's also her incredible sensuality. She knows how to take advantage of her perfectly self-assured sex appeal without losing a bit of her elegance."
