Bottega Veneta Spring-Summer 2014 campaign

Bottega Veneta Spring-Summer 2014 campaign The Italian luxury brand hired famed South African photographer Pieter Hugo to shoot its latest advertising campaign. Pieter Hugo photographed the latest Bottega Veneta campaign on location in New Jersey, showing off the label's womenswear and menswear collections for the Spring 2014 season.
It's the latest in an ongoing series of collaborations with some of the biggest names in fine art photography: previous talent picked by Bottega Veneta has included Peter Lindbergh, Nan Goldin, Steven Meisel, Nick Knight, Annie Leibovitz, Stephen Shore and Philip-Lorca diCorcia among many others.
Hugo, whose work is part of permanent collections in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art, and London's Victoria and Albert Museum, is known for his mix of reportage and portraiture, including his stunning shots of hyenas and their human owners in Nigerian slums.
"I am a great admirer of Pieter's portraits, which have an undeniable beauty, yet do not shy from challenging the viewer," explained Bottega Veneta Creative Director Tomas Maier. "Pieter was a natural choice for the campaign as he has the most unusual use and sense of color, and is also a master at framing his subjects in their environments in a most poetic way. So I was interested to see how he would be able to translate his approach to image-making for our collection. I am pleased to say I am very happy with the result."
A short behind-the-scenes film documenting the shoot will appear online at bottegaveneta.com in February.
