Valentino at Somerset House
Valentino: Master of Couture opened last night for press previews. The retrospective pays homage to the exceptionally glamorous life and work of the Italian designer with a focus on his couture creations. The
exhibition follows his works right from the design process inside his atelier to the red carpet. It was a who’s who of industry insiders at Somerset House as the fashion-pack gushed over gowns worn by the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Anne Hathaway. The exhibition features previously unseen imagery from Mr Garavani\'s personal archives alongside more than 130 hand-crafted creations designed for stars from Grace Kelly to Gywneth Paltrow, on display for the first time in the UK. It has been lauded by commentators as the ‘fashion exhibition of the decade’, clearly a must-see for any high-fashion fan. While at Somerset House, why not skate on the ice-rink and nip into see the free (and similarly spectacular) Tim Walker and Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibitions?
The exhibition opens to the public today and runs from November 29, 2012 - March 3, 2013.
