Spectacular collection
New York Fashion Week Fall winter 2012 hit day two on a strong note with designer Jason Wu.
The designer put on a spectacular show with a collection seeped in themes
from iconic Chinese imagery, "from the Qing Dynasty to the instantly recognizable military Mao jacket to 1940s Hollywood take on China.
" Wu's collection was connected with the thread of crimson, which made vibrant appearances on tuxedo jackets, embroidered tops and floral patterns. Models flaunted their legs in high slits and their collars in intricately ornate tops. Supermodel Candice Swanepoel strutted her stuff for Jason Wu, wowing the crowd in a black belted gown. The collection is perfect for women who want to tap into this trend and make it their own. There were several pieces in the show that could be easily mixed and matched with military inspired pieces such as bomber jackets and accessories such as aviator sunglasses. Wu is on track to becoming a powerhouse in American fashion design.
