Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs made a bold statement in his Spring Summer 2013 collection during New York Fashion Week. For spring 2013, the designer aimed for tailored cut jackets short at the rib cage while pencil skirts or pants were
slung low on the hips to expose bare midriffs, a trend this season.
“It\'s brutal. Just sex appeal and strength, with no romance and no emotion,\" was how Marc Jacobs described the collection. He added that the collection began with a T-shirt dress to the floor, and a flat shoe. \"We wanted a look that would accommodate a long, quick stride.\"
Jacobs introduced polka- dot in autumn 2011 and now he stripped down everything for spring. Thick deckchair stripes and all-over giraffe prints were stamped on to boxy dresses, coats and skirts.
Bags were petite, square boxes in matching stripes, and shoes were either kitten heeled or completely flat.
