Creative and image director of Christian Dior Peter Philips The former Creative Director for makeup at Chanel has signed up as the creative and image director of Christian Dior makeup. Philips stepped down from his previous role at Chanel in February 2013. Today the Belgian took on a new rolel at rival luxury brand Christian Dior.
"His talent and his unique and modern vision of beauty are recognized around the world," Claude Martinez, president and chief executive officer of Parfums Christian Dior, said in a statement picked up by WWD.
The makeup artist became well-known for his extravagant runway looks for Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel shows and for the innovative product lines he developed including the Chanel logo facial stickers he used for the brand's rococo Resort 2013 collection shown at the Palais de Versailles.
"I am honored by the responsibilities that are entrusted to me by Christian Dior makeup, whose values, savoir-faire and innovation I respect," added Philips. We're very excited to see what new projects he gets up to.
