Major of Jbeil-Byblos is to be awarded for toursim efforts
Lebanese ancient city of Jbeil-Byblos has been chosen as the best Arab tourist city in 2013. Tatweej Academy chose Byblos in cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
In recognition of the efforts exerted to achieve the award, Mayor of Byblos, Ziad Al-Hawwat, will receive the Red Ribbon and the Golden order of merit on Saturday. The celebration would be attended by Director General of UN World Tourism Organisation Taleb el-Refaie and a number of the Arab leaders.
The executive council of the academy congratulated Hawwat and the members of the local council of the city, praising the role that they performed to promote the tourist and heritage nature of their city.
Hawwat stressed that they had managed to establish the best projects despite the difficulties that faced them.
He pledged that Byblos would adopt a number of development projects to achieve economic progress, promising a wonderful summer of tourism to pave the way for improving the city.
