Lego lovers young and old are flocking to a new attraction pieced together on the street in Dubai.
Boxpark – the hip shopping district which hosts boutiques and brands in stacked freight containers – has unveiled a new temporary exhibit celebrating the favourite family pastime.
Blocks at Boxpart is a tribute to Lego, the Danish toy brand which allows users to build their own constructions from bricks.
The attraction includes a "shop and play” workshop area where enthusiasts of any age can get stuck into colourful blocks of all shapes and sizes, open from noon to 10pm daily. Also on offer are special workshops for three to 16-year-olds.
Blocks will be at the Al Wasl complex until September 5, and is one of a number of special happenings taking place as part of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
Other tempting temporary offerings include the "His and Hers” competition, which will see one lucky couple win two luxury cars – an Infinity QX50 & Q50 – once a week. The raffle runs for six weeks, ending on September 10.
This year's DSS is also hosting a special "Back to School” campaign, which offers shoppers the chance to win back their school fees when they spend more than Dh200 on school gear at Imaginarium, Poupette a la plage, Angels, Adidas, Toms or Typo, between September 1 and 10.
One-off refreshment outlets also on offer at Boxpark include the Chinese street food-themed eatery Kuai, and the motorsport hangout Yamaha Café.
