Sudan Airlines Sudan Airways has announced it is committed to serving Muslim pilgrims flying to the Holy Land, stating it would provide backup jets for those travelling during Ramadan. The Director-General of the company, Eng Adel Mohammed Ahmed, said that logistics for Ramadan Umrah and Hajj pilgrims were discussed for this year. He explained that there were other efforts to prepare the national carrier technically, commercially and in terms of administrative arrangements to provide a distinguished service for the pilgrims.
The Director for Hajj travels in the company, Motia Mohamed Ahmed, has announced that 20,000 people are expected to travel for Umrah this year, while Sudan Airways would organise flights between Medina and the various states of Sudan, stressing on the close coordination with relevant authorites, especially the Central Bank of Sudan.
The airline has started to gradually recover after its profits declined due to stronger performances by regional competitors.
