New Plaza suite channels twenties glitz and glamour
In anticipation of Australian director Baz Luhrman’s 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby, Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel put the finishing touches on a glitzy Jazz Age addition. From May 10, guests will be able to wine and dine
à la Daisy Buchanan in a lavish suite eighteen floors above Fifth Avenue. Sleek fixtures and gilding conjure the lavish debauchery of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s most popular classic. Catherine Martin, the Oscar-winning production designer of Moulin Rouge headed up the revamp. The Fitzgerald suite adeptly emulates the roaring twenties with striking art-deco detailing and period furnishings by Restoration Hardware.
