Classic Motor Show heads to Birmingham
More than 1,400 cars and 250 motorcycles are on display at the NEC in Birmingham this weekend at the Footman James Classic Motor Show.
Seven halls will brim with meticulously restored
machines presented by many of Britain's best motoring clubs and marque specialists. The organisers promise a broad selection, with everything from pre-war through to more recent classics, American muscle cars, highly tuned Japanese machines, exotic European designs and a section devoted to great British sports cars.
The Meguiar's Club Showcase brings together the best concours cars from club events throughout the year, one of which will be crowned Car of the Year. Other features include the Wheeler Dealer Live Stage hosted by the TV's Mike Brewer and Edd China with restoration challenges, special guests and exclusive competitions.
Hands-on restorers will appreciate the restoration theatre, where a team of mechanics will demonstrate all aspects of restoring a classic car.
The Footman James Classic Motorbike Show features live motorcycle action, stunning bike club displays, a Pride of Ownership concours and a Vintage Wall of Death, as well as guest appearances by four times World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty and former World Superbike and GP rider Pierfrancesco Chili.
Across both events, there are more than 300 trade stands sell a wide range of accessories and memorabilia, as well as autojumble and bikejumble events.
Tickets cost £25.50 on the door on Friday, and £20.50 on the Saturday and Sunday. There's also a range of multi-day passes and concessions for senior citizens, while children under five are admitted free.
