Ferrari has replaced original seats with upholstered carbon fibre chassis The new Ferrari supercar will cost $1.3 million before tax, sources have told auto news website, Automotive News Europe. Ferrari will produce 499 units, 100 more than the 2002 Enzo to meet growing demand for the supercar in Asia.
The price and production numbers have not been officially confirmed by Ferrari, but were leaked to Automotive News Europe.
The supercar is yet to be named, and is referred to by its codename, the F150 project.
During an event earlier this month, Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat-Chrysler, said that the new Ferrari has already sold out.  
The F150 will deliver over 900hp through a hybrid system which combines a new V-12 gasoline engine with an electric motor. The hybrid system dubbed HY-KERS will reduce fuel consumption by 40 percent in the new supercar. HY-KERS will also enable the car to accelerate 0 to 200 kilometres per hour at an impressive 5.5 seconds.
The electric motor and batteries will add 150 kilograms to the Enzo’s weight. However, Ferrari CEO, Amedeo Felisa told Automotive News Europe that carbon fibres will save weight in Formula 1 racecars. The interiors have also witnessed a complete makeover as Ferrari has replaced original seats with upholstered carbon fibre chassis.
Ferrari’s global sales increased 5 percent in 2012.
