Abu Dhabi - Arab Today
New York University Abu Dhabi, NYUAD, yesterday announced the opening of Science on Saadiyat, a series of three science-related public programmes that will run for a week, with the aim of sparking dialogue and igniting a sense of scientific wonder.
"Here at NYUAD we continue to build a knowledge-based community as well as expand our students' boundaries of knowledge," said Philip Kennedy, Vice Provost of Public Programming for the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute. "The launch of Science on Saadiyat, which will feature renowned professionals and industry leaders from across the world with a shared passion for learning, brings us a step closer to achieving our goals." For three days starting today, "Coral Reefs of Arabia: Exploring New Insights and Opportunities on Our Regional Reef," will explore topics related to the region's unique but understudied coral reef ecosystems. This open conference brings together leading international and regional scientists and marine managers studying Arabia's reefs to exchange recent research findings as well as enhance collaboration among regional stakeholders.
Convened by John A. Burt, an Associate Professor of Biology at NYUAD, the conference also includes over 100 oral presentations and poster presentations from regional and international scientists, managers, and other stakeholders.
