Aisha Gaddafi

Aisha Gaddafi The daughter of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi is seeking asylum in Morocco, after fleeing to neighbouring Algeria when her country was caught in a pro-democracy uprising. Aisha Gaddafi and her family are reportedly in talks with Moroccan diplomatic envoys to seek political asylum in the north-west African country. Their departure is imminent as negotiations are apparently almost over.
Newspapers in Rabat reported that after Colonel Gaddafi\'s murder, Morocco seemed a promising refuge to the Gaddafi family owing to its popularity among Gaddafi loyalists.
Sources pointed out that many people close to Gaddafi found asylum in Niger, however, it is a second option for Aisha, in case Moroccos refuses to grant them asylum.
Aisha carried out intensive negotiations with the al-Khuwailidi family regarding the issue with the Moroccan envoy who used to state that the Gaddafi family would \"always be welcomed in Morocco\".
Political analysts in Rabat have cited Morocco\'s openness to accepting refugees, despite its often strained ties with the Gaddafis.
However, the departure might arouse the anger of the Libyan interim government, in addition to Aisha\'s outspoken statements where she calls on loyalists to stage a counter-revolution in her country, which earned her a strong rebuke from the Algerian government.
