Women on the Beach
A new Israeli organization is preparing to carry out a broad campaign to stop Israeli women from mixing with Arab men, calling them and going to the beach with them in what they called “Beach Guards.” The Israeli
Army Radio station online website said on Thursday that the organization has started this campaign this summer by wandering around the different beaches in Israeli cities and telling young Israeli men and women not to mix with Arab or non-Israeli youth on the beach and anywhere else. The Radio’s website also said that it is preparing to campaign via its online website as well by releasing a video from the 1980s of a Priest warning male and female Israeli youth not to mix with non-Israeli youth or Arabs. Furthermore, they pointed out that the reason behind this campaign comes from the numerous phone calls the radio station receives from Israeli girls’ parents who cry and complain about their daughters who are in touch with Arab guys as their parents fear that the relationship between their children and the Arab guys will develop to become something more serious. In addition, they said that this campaign is necessary to preserve the Jewish religion and finding a barrier between Arab men and Israeli women as they apparently feel “extremely embarrassed” when they see Arab men sitting near them on the beach and the looks they give to them which make them very uncomfortable.
