H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received on Monday, Harjit Sajjan, Canada's Minister of National Defence, in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed mutual ties between the UAE and Canada, especially in the military and defence fields.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Minister Sajjan exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, and a number of issues of common concern.
Welcoming the Canadian Minister's visit to the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the depth of relations between the two nations, and the nation's keenness to strengthen them.
The Canadian Defence Minister praised the level of the bilateral ties between the UAE and Canada, underscoring the importance of enhancing these relations across a number of sectors. He also praised the country's pioneering status at the regional and international levels, and its initiatives to support international community efforts to achieve global peace, security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, Ambassador of the UAE to Canada.
