Abdullah bin Zayed

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has visited the headquarters of TAQA North, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, TAQA, in Calgary, Alberta.
During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied by John Baird, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Sheikh Abdullah then attended a talks session which was held at the headquarters of TAQA North under the title: "Energy Security" in the presence of the Canadian Foreign Minister and a number of officials from the two sides.
During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation between the U.A.E. and Canada, especially in the oil and gas, renewable energy, investment and economic fields, as well as health, education, infrastructure, agriculture and food security.
They also discussed the current global energy supply situation, aspirations and expectations over ten or twenty years to come, as well as reviewing the reports of the Canadian private sector in this regard.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants commended the existing relations between the U.A.E. and Canada, stressing the keenness of both sides to strengthen and boost them in all fields, as the Canadian side hailed the rapid development witnessed by the U.A.E. in all fields.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also attended a round table, which was held at the McDougall Centre, to discuss a number of trade issues, with the participation of Cal Dallas, Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations in the Government of Alberta, and representatives from the government and private sectors.
During the meeting, they exchanged talks about the investment opportunities available in the United Arab Emirates and Canada, in particular the Province of Alberta.
At the conclusion of his visit to Alberta, Sheikh Abdullah met with the Premier, Dave Hancock.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the U.A.E. and Canada and ways of developing and strengthening them to serve the common interests between the two countries.
