General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will pay a three-day visit to Japan from February 25, the Japanese Foreign Ministry announced Friday. During his stay, the crown prince will meet with Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the ministry said, adding that the visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the UAE. Abe held a meeting with General Sheikh Mohammed in Abu Dhabi last May, in which they decided to expand the multilayered partnership between the two countries and to build a comprehensive partnership over a broad range of fields including politics, economy, and cultural and human exchanges. The two countries also signed the Japan-UAE Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy while Abe was in Abu Dhabi.
